In September 2018, I decided my project would be to take an EMT class, which I decided to take through National EMS Institute.
On November 27th, I attended my first class in Taunton, MA from 6pm-10pm. The image to the right is a copy of the student handbook, which outlines all classroom rules and procedures.
Throughout my class, I was taught hands on skills necessary to pass the class and state practice. I was prepared for seven different stations: CPR, upper extremity splinting, lower extremity splinting (traction splinting), longboard stabilization, short board (KED vest) stabilization, medical assessment, and trauma assessment
At the end of my class, I took an online final and an in-class practical with my partner from the class. I passed both with flying colors!
